- Plan, structure and manage the overall project for establishing a new rocket engine test facility
- Oversee scheduling, budgeting and resource management in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Coordinate approval and permitting processes with authorities and relevant institutions
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
- Supervise assembly, installation and commissioning of the test systems
- Serve as the technical interface between DLR, suppliers and internal departments
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test, inspection and acceptance records
- Take full responsibility for operating the test facility after commissioning
- Organize and conduct rocket engine tests in accordance with all safety regulations
- Ensure high-quality data acquisition and perform initial data evaluations
- Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities

Key Responsibilities
Basic Qualification
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable
- Several years of professional experience in large-scale plant construction and/or operation of complex technical systems
- Solid project management knowledge (e.g., PMI or IPMA certification or equivalent)
- Business-fluent German and very good command of English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of safety and quality management as well as relevant standards and regulations
Desired Experience
- Knowledge of propulsion and fluid systems, high-pressure systems and cryogenic technology
- Experience in collaborating with authorities and governmental institutions
- Familiarity with approval processes and safety regulations in the aerospace sector
