Project Coordinator (m/f/d) – Large Test Facility

Key Responsibilities

Plan, structure and manage the overall project for establishing a new rocket engine test facility
Oversee scheduling, budgeting and resource management in collaboration with internal and external partners
Coordinate approval and permitting processes with authorities and relevant institutions
Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
Supervise assembly, installation and commissioning of the test systems
Serve as the technical interface between DLR, suppliers and internal departments
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test, inspection and acceptance records
Take full responsibility for operating the test facility after commissioning
Organize and conduct rocket engine tests in accordance with all safety regulations
Ensure high-quality data acquisition and perform initial data evaluations
Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities

Basic Qualification

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable
Several years of professional experience in large-scale plant construction and/or operation of complex technical systems
Solid project management knowledge (e.g., PMI or IPMA certification or equivalent)
Business-fluent German and very good command of English, both written and spoken
Knowledge of safety and quality management as well as relevant standards and regulations

Desired Experience

Knowledge of propulsion and fluid systems, high-pressure systems and cryogenic technology
Experience in collaborating with authorities and governmental institutions
Familiarity with approval processes and safety regulations in the aerospace sector
