Job description

As Team Lead Procurement & Supply Chain Management (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the functional and disciplinary management of our procurement activities and the upstream and downstream supply chain processes in a young company offering significant scope for shaping and development. Together with your team, you will ensure an integrated, efficient supply chain—from demand planning and procurement through to inventory and logistics management—as well as high-performing supplier relationships and measurable financial results. You will establish standards, drive change, and further develop Procurement and SCM into a strategic business partner for the specialist departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide functional and disciplinary leadership for a team of three employees
  • Strategically develop procurement processes and supplier structures
  • Take responsibility for end-to-end supply chain management—from demand planning and procurement through to inventory and logistics management
  • Establish and further develop inventory management and materials planning to ensure security of supply
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics processes, including interfaces with warehousing and production
  • Take responsibility for procuring materials, components, and services while considering quality, cost, and delivery times
  • Manage and optimize customs-related matters (e.g., import/export and customs tariff classification)
  • Further develop demand and supply planning processes to optimize supply chains and capacity
  • Negotiate contracts and prices and develop long-term, trusted relationships with suppliers and service providers
  • Manage risks throughout the supply chain, including supplier evaluation and strengthening supply chain resilience
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific certifications and requirements (e.g., AS9100)
  • Collaborate closely with the relevant internal departments
  • Further develop processes, systems, and structures, particularly as part of digitalization and ERP initiatives

Basic Qualification

  • Completed degree in business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience in procurement and/or SCM, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Initial leadership experience is desirable; alternatively, a strong willingness and potential to take on leadership responsibility
  • Sound knowledge of customs-related matters (import/export, customs clearance, and foreign trade law) is an advantage
  • Experience in the aerospace industry or a comparably regulated industry is an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain management (e.g., inventory management, logistics, and planning processes)
  • Strong analytical understanding of supply chain and inventory KPIs (e.g., service level, inventory coverage, and OTIF)
  • Confident use of ERP systems
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills when working with suppliers, service providers, and internal stakeholders
  • Business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken
