- Develop, program, simulate, and optimize Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) manufacturing processes for aerospace composite structures
- Create and maintain CNC/AFP programs, tool paths, setup documentation, and manufacturing instructions
- Use software such as Siemens NX, Fibersim, and Vericut to generate and verify layup programs and machine simulations
- Troubleshoot AFP equipment, CNC systems, robotic cells, and manufacturing processes
- Support production teams by improving quality, efficiency, cycle times, and manufacturability
- Investigate manufacturing defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, design, quality, and materials engineering teams to support flight-critical hardware production

Key Responsibilities
Basic Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent AFP/CNC programming experience depending on role level)
- Experience with CNC programming, automated manufacturing, composite fabrication, or aerospace production environments
- Knowledge of composite materials and processes, including prepreg layup, vacuum bagging, and curing
- Experience with 5-axis CNC machining and/or AFP programming
- Proficiency with Siemens NX, Fibersim, or similar CAD/CAM software
- Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, manufacturing plans, and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Hands-on approach to supporting production operations
- English in spoken and written form, German is desirable
Desired Experience
- Direct AFP programming and process development experience
- Experience with Ingersoll, MTorres, Coriolis, or similar AFP systems
- Knowledge of Siemens SINUMERIK 840D controls, PLCs, robotics (FANUC, ABB, KUKA), and metrology systems
- Experience with composite machining, trimming, drilling, and assembly
- Aerospace manufacturing experience, especially with flight-critical hardware
